Support Groups

New Horizons Crisis Center offers support groups to help victims deal with issues of Domestic Violence and abuse. These groups are held on a weekly basis and focus on topics such as:

• self-esteem
• financial independence
• reducing stress
• goal setting and
• overcoming depression

Support groups are also offered to children. These groups are both fun and educational,and provide ways for children to deal with feelings they may have about the changes in their lives.

Parenting

We also provide parenting classes on a frequent basis to the public. The classes provide lessons and skills for parents to improve their home environment. Children are invited to come with their parents; the Youth Coordinator will provide lessons that correlate with their parents.

Children

In addition to these classes, we offer character building classes for children in the community. Classes focus on:

• respect
• cooperation
• responsibility
• self esteem
• anti-drug/alcohol
• bullying
• anger management

All classes are free of charge to the public. Please contact New Horizons for dates and times of classes and groups.
